I was honored to speak at the international economic forum “Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum,” during sessions addressing the role of women in economic development, long-term investment, and women’s empowerment in vital sectors, including agriculture and food sustainability. Throughout these discussions, the level of interest in the UAE experience was particularly striking, as it is increasingly recognized as a development model that has attracted global attention.
Today, with the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Nation,” President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Emirati women have become a comprehensive success story—moving beyond traditional concepts of empowerment to create genuine impact across a wide range of sectors.
The journey is about more than simply involving women. It is about building an integrated environment that supports women scientifically, economically, and legislatively, enabling them to become essential partners in development and decision-making.
What distinguishes the Emirati experience is that this empowerment has evolved in harmony with local identity and culture. Emirati women have successfully brought together modernity and authenticity, representing their country with confidence on the international stage while preserving their identity and values.
This is what captures the world’s attention today: professional success strengthened by cultural and social identity.
In Kazan, the focus was directed toward the UAE’s underlying philosophy itself: How has a young nation succeeded in building a balanced model in which women play an active role in development while remaining in harmony with society and national identity?
This is where the strength of my country’s experience lies. It is an experience built on gradual progress, trust, and investment in people.
Today, the world looks upon Emirati women with admiration. They have become a model of leadership, innovation, and the ability to balance authenticity with progress.
What we see today is the fruit of a long-term vision planted by the founding fathers and nurtured by wise leadership—until Emirati women became true partners in shaping the future.
