The Federal National Council’s Technology, Energy, and Mineral Resources Committee, chaired by His Excellency Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, Chairman of the Committee, is holding two panel discussions titled “Developing National Industry in the UAE.” This is part of the committee’s plan to discuss the topic “The Role of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in Developing National Industries.”
The first panel discussion, which will be held remotely tomorrow, Tuesday, at 4:30 PM, will be attended by factory owners (investors). The second panel discussion, with the participation of all interested parties and specialists, will be held at the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday, taking into account the precautionary measures taken to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Participating in the two panel discussions are committee members His Excellency Mohammed Issa Al Kashf, Committee Rapporteur; Afra Bakhit Al Alili; Dr. Nidal Mohammed Al Tunaiji; Aisha Rashid Laitim; Aisha Mohammed Al Mulla; and Dr. Hawa Al Dahak Al Mansouri. His Excellency Yousef Abdullah Al Batran explained that the two discussion panels aim to identify the challenges facing Emirati entrepreneurs and investors in the national industry, as well as the challenges facing national industrial products in local and global markets, with the aim of arriving at solutions and proposals that will ensure the development of national industry and enhance economic growth in the UAE.
He added that the target group for participation in these two panels is industry specialists, to hear their opinions, proposals, observations, and insights on the topic “The Role of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in Developing National Industries.”
Al Batran stated that the two discussion panels will include three main themes: the challenges facing owners of national industrial projects in the country, protecting national industry from foreign competition, and raising the competitiveness of national industrial products in global markets.
His Excellency stated that the committee is discussing the topic “The Role of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in Developing National Industries” as part of the strategic plan the ministry seeks to achieve regarding the development of local industry, incentives and grants to support national industries and protect them from foreign industries, and cooperation and coordination with local and federal entities to support national industries.
