Female members of the Federal National Council (FNC) stated that working Emirati women have proven their success in shaping the future of the country’s economy and society by holding important political positions. These positions have played a significant role in supporting the country’s progress and development over the past fifty years.
FNC member Sumaya Al Suwaidi stated that a woman’s ability to balance her professional career with her family life and her role as a mother is not an easy or simple equation. However, as long as she loves her work and is as dedicated to it as she is to her family life, and as long as she deeply believes in her abilities and excellence, and possesses the ability to challenge herself—a hallmark of her strong personality and drive for perseverance and success—she will always be able to solve this difficult equation and create that constructive balance.
She added: “The FNC mothers’ awareness of this balance is an indicator of their attainment of a high level of awareness and sense of national responsibility toward their country and children. The physiological nature of female leaders, along with their qualities of patience, determination, and strength of character, is sufficient to establish, as far as possible, a framework for balance between their duties and responsibilities as mothers and their professional work.”
She continued: “Because a distinguished female leader who protects her country is capable of protecting her home and family by possessing the tools to organize time and priorities, be flexible, and prepare in advance, you will find that she excels in her various responsibilities, whether professional or familial.”
She said: “The female leader’s belief that she is an effective and unique partner in the nation’s renaissance and development has strengthened her self-confidence and facilitated the overcoming of all difficulties, making her worthy of creating this balance. She demonstrated her ability to coordinate her professional and family roles and adapt to all circumstances to become a distinguished national and professional symbol, while simultaneously being qualified to manage a stable and secure family, capable of achieving her ambitions and managing her life affairs with competence and competence.”
Naema Al Mansouri, a member of the Federal National Council, emphasized that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), “Mother of the Emirates,” represents a role model for all Emirati mothers and daughters in her dedication, determination, and perseverance in strengthening the status of Emirati families and contributing effectively to the country’s sustainable development across various sectors.
She stated that the UAE, under the guidance and support of its wise leadership, has set an inspiring model for empowering Emirati mothers and daughters and enhancing their capabilities to build future generations, who constitute a fundamental pillar in the UAE’s civilizational journey towards fifty new years of leadership and progress.
She pointed out that balancing her work in the Federal National Council with her duties as a mother is inspired by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, the “Mother of the Emirates,” a woman of great generosity and generous support, and a pioneer in women’s empowerment. Balancing work and family is a responsibility that requires great awareness and prioritization to achieve the desired goals. Caring for the family is one of the fundamental pillars that reflects the development and progress of society in general, a goal that is embodied and supported through our work within the dome of Parliament.
Aisha Mohammed Saeed Al Mulla, a member of the Federal National Council, said that Emirati women have always been and continue to be an important and effective element in the country’s progress and prosperity, and an integral part of the demographic structure, working side by side with men to enable the country to achieve its lofty ambitions and undertake unparalleled accomplishments.
She added: “Since the early days of the Union, the wise leadership, led by the Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, recognized the importance of Emirati women and their ability to achieve all their aspirations. The country has benefited greatly from this approach, as women have proven themselves to be up to the task and demonstrated their ability to balance family duties and daily professional burdens, thus making a tangible contribution to supporting the nation’s development.”
Dr. Moza Al Ameri, a member of the Federal National Council, stated that working Emirati women have achieved countless accomplishments in all fields since the founding of the Union fifty years ago, from education to working in the most difficult and demanding professions.
Regarding her personal experience in combining her role as a member of the Federal National Council, her medical career, and her family responsibilities, she added: “The great support received by working Emirati women has contributed significantly to overcoming all challenges they may face, which has positively impacted their productivity and their contribution to advancing the nation’s development.”
