The visit by U.S. President Donald Trump to the Gulf region — his first foreign tour since returning to the White House for his second term — underscores the strategic importance of the region in consolidating global stability, enhancing security in the Middle East, and worldwide.
It also highlights his positive role in resolving outstanding international trade issues.
His visit to the UAE, in particular, marks a milestone for realizing advanced investment and technological opportunities and reinforcing the country’s leadership in artificial intelligence (AI). The UAE announced an investment of $1.4 trillion over the next 10 years in AI, semiconductors, industry, energy, and data centers. This will contribute significantly to the nation’s technological and economic progress, while bolstering non-oil alternatives. Notably, the UAE’s current investments exceed $1 trillion.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, during his meeting with President Trump, affirmed that this step “reflects the strength of the strategic partnership between Abu Dhabi and Washington, which has witnessed a qualitative and unprecedented boost.”
His Highness added, “There is significant cooperation between the public and private sectors in both countries, along with strategic projects that strengthen our partnership as a pillar of stability and growth—not only for the region but for the world.”
President Trump also stated, “This is the greatest investment made by a foreign party in our country, reflecting great confidence in the future of the American economy.”
The partnership between the two sides represents a qualitative and unprecedented boost, especially in the fields of the new economy, energy, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and industry.
This comes in parallel with the UAE’s wise leadership’s approach to keeping pace with modern technological changes. The UAE is the first country to appoint a Minister of Artificial Intelligence and the first to adopt a specialized AI curriculum at all educational stages, starting from kindergarten.
